I'm biased, of course, being a published Shakespearean scholar, but I first studied AS YOU LIKE IT when I was 17 and have loved it ever since, both in reading and in performance. The play provides variations on the theme of love, centering on the enterprising character Rosalind (girl dressed as boy) who uses disguise in the Forest of Arden to educate her naive lover Orlando. It's accessible drama for contemporary readers and audiences. This Signet edition is a pleasing edition, handy to carry around, and it contains helpful critical essays to guide readers into the play.
